Journal ArticleDOI

SNP frequency, haplotype structure and linkage disequilibrium in elite maize inbred lines

TL;DR: No decline of linkage disequilibrium within a few hundred base pairs was found in the elite maize germplasm, consistent with the effects of breeding-induced bottlenecks and selection on the elite germplas pool.
Journal ArticleDOI

Linkage disequilibrium and sequence diversity in a 500-kbp region around the adh1 locus in elite maize germplasm

TL;DR: Analysis of several loci in the vicinity of the adh1 gene shows that LD as measured by D′ and r2 extends greater than 500 kbp in this germplasm, which may be suggestive of selection acting on one of the genes in the near-misses or of a locally reduced rate of recombination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genes associated with the end of dormancy in grapes

TL;DR: The results of this study show that even in the dormant state, gene expression in the buds is high, particularly leading up to the buds’ release from dormancy.
