TL;DR: Single-agent As2O3, as used in this series, in the management of newly diagnosed cases of APL, is associated with responses comparable with conventional chemotherapy regimens, and has minimal toxicity and can be administered on an outpatient basis after remission induction.

TL;DR: Single-agent ATO as used in this study in the management of newly diagnosed cases of APL is safe and is associated with durable responses while results in the low-risk group are comparable to that reported with conventional therapy while additional interventions would probably be required in high-risk cases.
