Instrumental characterization of clay by XRF, XRD and FTIR

TL;DR: Instrumental characterizations of the clay were performed by different techniques such as XRF, XRD and FTIR as discussed by the authors, which showed the presence of quartz, alumina, haematite and different mineral matters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sorption equilibrium studies of toxic nitro-substituted phenols on fly ash

TL;DR: The potential of fly ash, a low cost and abundantly available material with good sorption properties, for removing phenols was investigated in this paper, where the effect of various factors such as adsorbent particle size, pH, phenol concentration and temperature on the sorption capacity was investigated.
Journal Article

Sorption studies on clay for the removal of phenol and p-nitrophenol from aqueous solution

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of particle size of sorbent, pH, phenol concentration and temperature on sorption capacity has been studied by batch experiments using clay sorbent and the results show that the sorption data for phenols onto clay fits well in this model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sorption kinetics for phenol and nitro-substituted toxic phenols from aqueous solution using clay as sorbent material

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effectiveness of less-expensive sorbent clay in removing phenols from wastewater by sorption and showed that clay could be used as an efficient sorbent material for the sorption of phenols.
