Journal ArticleDOI

Iterative ecological radiation and convergence during the evolutionary history of damselfishes (Pomacentridae).

TL;DR: Tests of the tempo of lineage diversification using a time-calibrated phylogeny including 208 species revealed that crown pomacentrid diversification has not slowed through time as expected under a scenario of a single adaptive radiation resulting from an early burst of diversification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trophic niches of thirteen damselfishes (Pomacentridae) at the Grand Récif of Toliara, Madagascar

TL;DR: The trophic niches of 13 sympatric species of damselfishes are determined by combining stable isotope (δ15N and δ13C) and stomach content analyses, revealing that their choice of habitat on the reef and their behavior appear to be good predictors of diet in this group.
Journal ArticleDOI

Patterns of morphological evolution of the cephalic region in damselfishes (Perciformes: Pomacentridae) of the Eastern Pacific

TL;DR: The cephalic profile of damselfishes contains a clear and strong phylogenetic signal and Phylogenetically adjusted regression reveals that head shape can be explained by differences in feeding habits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Agonistic sounds in the skunk clownfish Amphiprion akallopisos: size‐related variation in acoustic features

TL;DR: Both the dominant frequency and pulse duration were signals conveying information related to the size of the emitter, which implies that these sound characteristics could be useful in assessing size of conspecifics.
