Journal ArticleDOI
Targeting PI3K/Akt/mTOR Signaling in Cancer.
TL;DR: The present status of the development of specific PI3K, Akt, and mTOR inhibitors, from already registered medicines to novel compounds that are just leaving the laboratory bench are addressed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic Role of PD-L1 Expression in Renal Cell Carcinoma. A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Roberto Iacovelli,Franco Nolè,Elena Verri,Giuseppe Renne,Chiara Paglino,Matteo Santoni,Maria Cossu Rocca,Palma Giglione,Gaetano Aurilio,D. Cullurà,Stefano Cascinu,Camillo Porta +11 more
TL;DR: A meta-analysis indicates that a higher level of PD-L1 expression is a negative prognostic factor in RCC and its validation as an independent prognostic factors compared to other traditionally used clinical parameters in localized or advanced disease is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI
Circulating interleukin-6 as a tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinoma
Camillo Porta,M. De Amici,Silvana Quaglini,Chiara Paglino,F. Tagliani,A. Boncimino,Remigio Moratti,Gino Roberto Corazza +7 more
TL;DR: IL-6 could be considered a promising tumor marker for HCC, in particular, the diagnostic value of the test is significantly increased when combined with A(1)FP.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uncovering Pandora's vase: the growing problem of new toxicities from novel anticancer agents. The case of sorafenib and sunitinib.
TL;DR: This review shall deal with poorly recognised, but sometimes extremely distressing, toxicities of Sorafenib and sunitinib; pathophysiologic mechanisms will be discussed and suggestions for treatment of each toxicity will be proposed, based on the few pieces of evidence available.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive value of baseline serum vascular endothelial growth factor and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin in advanced kidney cancer patients receiving sunitinib
Camillo Porta,Chiara Paglino,Mara De Amici,Silvana Quaglini,Lucia Sacchi,Ilaria Imarisio,Cinzia Canipari +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that serum levels of VEGF and NGAL are significant predictors of progression-free survival in patients with renal cell carcinoma treated with sunitinib.
