TL;DR: GeGeant4 as mentioned in this paper is a software toolkit for the simulation of the passage of particles through matter, it is used by a large number of experiments and projects in a variety of application domains, including high energy physics, astrophysics and space science, medical physics and radiation protection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fitting late rectal bleeding data using different NTCP models: results from an Italian multi-centric study (AIROPROS0101).
Tiziana Rancati,Claudio Fiorino,Giovanna Gagliardi,Giovanni Mauro Cattaneo,Giuseppe Sanguineti,V. Casanova Borca,Cesare Cozzarini,Giovanni Fellin,Franca Foppiano,Giuseppe Girelli,Loris Menegotti,A. Piazzolla,V. Vavassori,Riccardo Valdagni +13 more
TL;DR: Different NTCP models fit quite accurately the considered clinical data and are consistent with a rectum 'less serial' than previously reported investigations when considering grade 2 bleeding while a more serial behaviour was found for severe bleeding.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationships between DVHs and late rectal bleeding after radiotherapy for prostate cancer: analysis of a large group of patients pooled from three institutions
Claudio Fiorino,Cesare Cozzarini,Vittorio Vavassori,Giuseppe Sanguineti,C. Bianchi,Giovanni Mauro Cattaneo,Franca Foppiano,Alessandro Magli,A. Piazzolla +8 more
TL;DR: The role of the rectal DVH in separating groups of patients having prostate radiotherapy in low and high risk of developing late bleeding is confirmed, and the association of adjuvant hormone deprivation seems to be associated with an increased risk of rectal toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rectal dose-volume constraints in high-dose radiotherapy of localized prostate cancer.
Claudio Fiorino,Giuseppe Sanguineti,Cesare Cozzarini,Gianni Fellin,Franca Foppiano,Loris Menegotti,A. Piazzolla,Vittorio Vavassori,Riccardo Valdagni +8 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided for correlation between rectal DVH parameters and late rectal bleeding in patients treated with curative intent with 3D-CRT and it seems advisable to limit V(50) to 60-65%, V(60) to 45-50%, and V70 to 25-30%.
