Journal ArticleDOI
Sensitivity of MRI versus mammography for detecting foci of multifocal, multicentric breast cancer in Fatty and dense breasts using the whole-breast pathologic examination as a gold standard.
Francesco Sardanelli,Gian Marco Giuseppetti,Pietro Panizza,Massimo Bazzocchi,Alfonso Fausto,Giovanni Simonetti,Veronica M.T. Lattanzio,Alessandro Del Maschio +7 more
TL;DR: MRI was more sensitive than mammography for the detection of multiple malignant foci in fibroglandular or dense breasts, and missed larger and more invasive cancer foci than MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of thin-slice computed tomography in the detection of coronary stenoses
Eugenio Martuscelli,Andrea Romagnoli,Alessia D'Eliseo,Cinzia Razzini,Marco Tomassini,Massimiliano Sperandio,Giovanni Simonetti,Francesco Romeo +7 more
TL;DR: Using a scanner with a collimation of 16 x 0.625 mm, the potential role of MSCT is confirmed in the detection of significant coronary stenosis with a sensitivity of 89% and a very high specificity (98%).
Journal ArticleDOI
Diagnostic Accuracy of Computed Tomographic Colonography for the Detection of Advanced Neoplasia in Individuals at Increased Risk of Colorectal Cancer
Daniele Regge,C. Laudi,G. Galatola,Patrizia Della Monica,Luigina Bonelli,Giuseppe Angelelli,R. Asnaghi,Brunella Barbaro,Carlo Bartolozzi,Didier Bielen,Luca Boni,Claudia Borghi,Paolo Bruzzi,Maria Carla Cassinis,Massimo Galia,Teresa Gallo,Andrea Grasso,Cesare Hassan,Andrea Laghi,Maria Cristina Martina,Emanuele Neri,Carlo Senore,Giovanni Simonetti,Silvia Venturini,Giovanni Gandini +24 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the accuracy of CT colonography in detecting advanced colorectal neoplasia in asymptomatic individuals at increased risk of CRC using unblinded colonoscopy as the reference standard found it to be accurate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optic nerve and optic radiation neurodegeneration in patients with glaucoma: in vivo analysis with 3-T diffusion-tensor MR imaging.
Francesco Garaci,Francesca Bolacchi,Angelica Cerulli,Milena Melis,A. Spanò,Claudio Cedrone,Roberto Floris,Giovanni Simonetti,Carlo Nucci +8 more
TL;DR: The finding that DT MR imaging-derived MD and FA in the optic nerves correlate with glaucoma severity suggests that these parameters could serve as complementary indicators of disease severity.
Journal Article
Diffusion and perfusion MR imaging in cases of Alzheimer's disease: correlations with cortical atrophy and lesion load.
TL;DR: Dynamic susceptibility contrast-enhanced MR imaging of rCBV may be an alternative to nuclear medicine imaging for the evaluation of patients with Alzheimer's disease and when brain atrophy is used as a covariate, differences in r CBV still persist, suggesting that perfusion impairment is unrelated to atrophy.
