A Measurement Study of a Large-Scale P2P IPTV System

TL;DR: In this paper, an in-depth measurement study of one of the most popular P2P IPTV systems, namely, PPLive, has been conducted, which enables the authors to study the global characteristics of the mesh-pull peer-to-peer IPTV system.

Insights into PPLive: A Measurement Study of a Large-Scale P2P IPTV System

TL;DR: An in-depth measurement study of one of the most popular IPTV systems, namely, PPLive, using a dedicated PPLiv crawler, which enables the study of the global characteristics of the mesh-pull P2P IPTV system.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

The Index Poisoning Attack in P2P File Sharing Systems

TL;DR: This paper develops a novel and efficient methodology for estimating index poisoning levels and pollution levels in file-sharing systems and outlines a distributed blacklisting procedure for countering the index poisoning and pollution attacks.
Journal ArticleDOI

The FastTrack overlay: A measurement study

TL;DR: Although this study does not fully solve the FastTrack puzzle, it nevertheless leads to a coherent description of FastTrack and its overlay, and leverages the measurement results to set forth a number of key principles for the design of a successful unstructured P2P overlay.
Book ChapterDOI

Efficient blacklisting and pollution-level estimation in p2p file-sharing systems

TL;DR: An efficient measurement methodology for identifying the sources of pollution and estimating the levels of polluted content is proposed, based on harvesting metadata from the file sharing system and then processing off-line the harvested meta-data and is applied to the FastTrack/Kazaa file-sharing network.
