Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances in the environment: Terminology, classification, and origins
Robert C. Buck,James Franklin,Urs Berger,Jason M. Conder,Ian T. Cousins,Pim de Voogt,Allan Astrup Jensen,Kurunthachalam Kannan,Scott A. Mabury,Stefan P.J. van Leeuwen +9 more
TL;DR: An overview of PFASs detected in the environment, wildlife, and humans, and recommend clear, specific, and descriptive terminology, names, and acronyms for PFAS, can be found in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI
Global distribution of perfluorooctane sulfonate in wildlife.
TL;DR: Fish-eating, predatory animals such as mink and bald eagles contained concentrations of PFOS that were greater than the concentrations in their diets, suggesting that PFOS can bioaccumulate to higher trophic levels of the food chain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Perfluorooctanesulfonate and related fluorochemicals in human blood from several countries.
Kurunthachalam Kannan,Simonetta Corsolini,Jerzy Falandysz,Gilberto Fillmann,Kurunthachalam Senthil Kumar,Bommanna G. Loganathan,Mustafa Ali Mohd,Jesus Olivero,Nathalie Van Wouwe,Jae Ho Yang,Kenneth M. Aldous +10 more
TL;DR: The results suggested the existence of sources with varying levels and compositions of perfluorochemicals, and differences in exposure patterns to these chemicals, in various countries.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bisphenol Analogues Other Than BPA: Environmental Occurrence, Human Exposure, and Toxicity-A Review.
Da Chen,Da Chen,Kurunthachalam Kannan,Hongli Tan,Zhengui Zheng,Yong-Lai Feng,Yan Wu,Margaret Widelka +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the current state of knowledge on the occurrence of bisphenol analogues (other than BPA) in the environment, consumer products and foodstuffs, human exposure and biomonitoring, and toxicity.
