PCI Strategies in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction and Cardiogenic Shock
Holger Thiele,Ibrahim Akin,Marcus Sandri,Georg Fuernau,Suzanne de Waha,Roza Meyer-Saraei,Peter Nordbeck,Tobias Geisler,Ulf Landmesser,Carsten Skurk,Andreas Fach,Harald Lapp,Jan J. Piek,Marko Noc,Tomaž Goslar,Stephan B. Felix,Lars S. Maier,Janina Stępińska,Keith G. Oldroyd,Pranas Šerpytis,Gilles Montalescot,Olivier Barthelemy,Kurt Huber,Stephan Windecker,Stefano Savonitto,Patrizia Torremante,Christiaan J. Vrints,Steffen Schneider,Steffen Desch,Uwe Zeymer +29 more
TL;DR: Among patients who had multivessel coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction with cardiogenic shock, the 30‐day risk of a composite of death or severe renal failure leading to renal‐replacement therapy was lower among those who initially underwent PCI of the culprit lesion only than amongThose who underwent immediate multivessels PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary percutaneous coronary intervention and mild induced hypothermia in comatose survivors of ventricular fibrillation with ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction
TL;DR: Preliminary experience indicates that primary PCI and MIH are feasible and may be combined safely in comatose survivors of ventricular fibrillation with signs of STEMI and such a strategy may improve survival with good neurological recovery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Invasive coronary treatment strategies for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest: a consensus statement from the European association for percutaneous cardiovascular interventions (EAPCI)/stent for life (SFL) groups
Marko Noc,Jean Fajadet,Jens Flensted Lassen,Petr Kala,Philip MacCarthy,Göran K. Olivecrona,Stephan Windecker,Christian Spaulding +7 more
TL;DR: Experts from the EAPCI and "Stent for Life" groups reviewed existing literature and provided practical guidelines on selection of patients for immediate coronary angiography (CAG), PCI strategy, concomitant antiplatelet/anticoagulation treatment, haemodynamic support and use of therapeutic hypothermia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adverse effects of interrupting precordial compression during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
TL;DR: During resuscitation from ventricular fibrillation, prolongation of the interval between discontinuation of precordial compression and delivery of the first electric countershock substantially compromises the success of cardiac resuscitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid endovascular catheter core cooling combined with cold saline as an adjunct to percutaneous coronary intervention for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction. The CHILL-MI trial: a randomized controlled study of the use of central venous catheter core cooling combined with cold saline as an adjunct to percutaneous coronary intervention for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors confirmed the cardioprotective effects of hypothermia using a combination of cold saline and endovascular cooling in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarctions.
