Modeling Impacts of Climate Change on Giant Panda Habitat
TL;DR: Long-term survival of giant pandas will require the creation of new protected areas that are likely to support suitable habitat even if the climate changes, and a major general prediction of climate change—a shift of habitats towards higher elevation and higher latitudes is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitochondrial lineages and DNA barcoding of closely related species in the mayfly genus Ephemerella (Ephemeroptera:Ephemerellidae)
TL;DR: The results do not support use of cytochrome oxidase I as a DNA barcode to identify species in this genus because of evidence of incomplete mtDNA lineage sorting in this gene, but use of the barcoding gene rediscovered some old taxonomic problems in Ephemerella.
Mapping Habitat and Deforestation in WWF Elephant Priority Landscapes
Melissa Songer,Christie Sampson,C. Williams,Jessica L. Forrest,K. Gyeltshen,K. Huy,A. Sharma,A. Gopala,A. Budiman,H. Sadikin,K. Yulianto,A. Viengkhamhak,E. A. Ayub,D. Anthony,R. Alfred,B. Pandav,O. D. B. Tri,M. Raj,Melanie Delion,G. J. Thapa,Peter Leimgruber +20 more
TL;DR: Fernando et al. as mentioned in this paper used baseline data against which to evaluate habitat loss has not been compiled for most of this geographic range and little information on elephant habitat, land cover and habitat loss is available for systematic assessments, monitoring, and conservation planning.
