A Review on Natural Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite and Its Applications
TL;DR: A comprehensive review of the most appropriate and widely used natural fiber reinforced polymer composites (NFPCs) and their applications is presented in this paper. But, the results of the review are limited due to the high water absorption, inferior fire resistance, and lower mechanical properties of NFPCs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of sugar palm nanofibrillated cellulose concentrations on morphological, mechanical and physical properties of biodegradable films based on agro-waste sugar palm (Arenga pinnata (Wurmb.) Merr) starch
R.A. Ilyas,S.M. Sapuan,Rushdan Ibrahim,Hairul Abral,Mohamad Ridzwan Ishak,Edi Syams Zainudin,M.S.N. Atikah,N. Mohd Nurazzi,A. Atiqah,Mohamed Nainar Mohamed Ansari,Edi Syafri,Mochamad Asrofi,Nasmi Herlina Sari,Ridhwan Jumaidin +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of different concentrations of sugar palm nanofibrillated cellulose (SPNFCs) reinforced sugar palm starch (SPS) on morphological, mechanical and physical properties of the bionanocomposites film was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mechanical properties of graphene oxide (GO)/epoxy composites
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of graphene oxide (GO) on composites based on epoxy resin were analyzed, and the experimental results clearly showed an improvement in the Young's modulus, tensile strength and hardness.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata [Wurmb.] Merr) starch films containing sugar palm nanofibrillated cellulose as reinforcement: Water barrier properties
R.A. Ilyas,S.M. Sapuan,A. Atiqah,Rushdan Ibrahim,Hairul Abral,Mohamad Ridzwan Ishak,Edi Syams Zainudin,N. M. Nurazzi,M.S.N. Atikah,Mohamed Nainar Mohamed Ansari,M. R. M. Asyraf,A.B.M. Supian,Hamdan H. Ya +12 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Physical and thermal properties of treated sugar palm/glass fibre reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane hybrid composites
A. Atiqah,A. Atiqah,Mohammad Jawaid,S.M. Sapuan,Mohamad Ridzwan Ishak,Mohamed Nainar Mohamed Ansari,R.A. Ilyas +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of various treatment such as 6% alkaline (TNSP), 2% silane (TSSP), and combined 6% -alkaline-silane (TNSSP) on physical and thermal properties of sugar palm/glass/thermoplastic polyurethane hybrid composites were investigated.
