Journal ArticleDOI

Health risks of heavy metals in contaminated soils and food crops irrigated with wastewater in Beijing, China

TL;DR: It is highlighted that both adults and children consuming food crops grown in wastewater-irrigated soils ingest significant amount of the metals studied, however, health risk index values of less than 1 indicate a relative absence of health risks associated with the ingestion of contaminated vegetables.
Journal ArticleDOI

Instability mechanisms and early warning indicators for mesophilic anaerobic digestion of vegetable waste.

TL;DR: The primary causes of instability are a high sugar and negligible ammonia content, in addition to the feed without effluent recirculation, which led to BA loss.
Journal ArticleDOI

The performance of phosphoric acid in the preparation of activated carbon-containing phosphorus species from rice husk residue

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of phosphoric acid (H3PO4) in the preparation of activated carbon-containing phosphorus species (P-species) using rice husk residues as feedstock was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Instability diagnosis and syntrophic acetate oxidation during thermophilic digestion of vegetable waste.

TL;DR: Compared with single parameters, the CH4/CO2 and BA/total alkalinity (TA) ratios are recommended as early warning indicators for engineering applications of thermophilic AD of VW.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrothermal pretreatment on the anaerobic digestion of washed vinegar residue

TL;DR: The aim of this work was to study the acetate separation from fresh vinegar residue FVR to avoid inhibition of methanogenesis and hydrothermal treatment on washed vinegar residue (WVR) to enhance methane production.
