A robust feldspar luminescence dating method for Middle and Late Pleistocene sediments
Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Mayank Jain,Andrew S. Murray,Kristina Jørkov Thomsen,Christine Thiel,Christine Thiel,Reza Sohbati +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a post-IR IRSL (IRSL) method for the dating of Middle and Late Pleistocene sediments, which appears to avoid signal instability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Luminescence dating of Pleistocene alluvial sediments affected by the Alhama de Murcia fault (eastern Betics, Spain) – a comparison between OSL, IRSL and post‐IR IRSL ages
Reza Sohbati,Andrew S. Murray,Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Jan-Pieter Buylaert,María Ortuño,María Ortuño,Pedro P. Cunha,Eulàlia Masana +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the ages of nine alluvial units, identified by the integration of data obtained from five trenches at the southern termination of the Alhama de Murcia Fault (AMF) (eastern Betics, Spain), are constrained using luminescence dating based on the Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) from quartz, IRSL at 50°C, and post-IR elevated temperature (225°C) IRSL signals from K-feldspar.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigating the resetting of OSL signals in rock surfaces
Reza Sohbati,Andrew S. Murray,Mayank Jain,Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Kristina Jørkov Thomsen +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the degree of resetting of OSL signals in grains and slices from five different cobbles/boulders collected from a modern beach is investigated, and the results show that significant thermal transfer in naturally bleached samples can be avoided by keeping preheat temperatures low.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) as a chronometer for surface exposure dating
Reza Sohbati,Reza Sohbati,Andrew S. Murray,Melissa S. Chapot,Melissa S. Chapot,Mayank Jain,Joel L. Pederson +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a technique of surface-exposure dating based upon the characteristic form of an optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) bleaching profile beneath a rock surface was proposed, which evolves as a function of depth and time.
Journal ArticleDOI
Luminescence dating of the PASADO core 5022-1D from Laguna Potrok Aike (Argentina) using IRSL signals from feldspar
Jan-Pieter Buylaert,Andrew S. Murray,A.C. Gebhardt,Reza Sohbati,Christian Ohlendorf,Christine Thiel,Stefan Wastegård,Bernd Zolitschka +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed and tested a luminescence chronology for the PASADO core 5022-1D taken in the Laguna Potrok Aike Maar Lake.
