Adsorption of heavy metals on conventional and nanostructured materials for wastewater treatment purposes: A review
Alexander E. Burakov,Evgeny Galunin,I.V. Burakova,Anastassia E. Kucherova,Shilpi Agarwal,Alexey Tkachev,Vinod Kumar Gupta +6 more
TL;DR: Detailed information and review on the adsorption of noxious heavy metal ions from wastewater effluents using various adsorbents - i.e., conventional (activated carbons, zeolites, clays, biosorbents, and industrial by-products) and nanostructured (fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, graphenes) is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and characterization of alumina-coated carbon nanotubes and their application for lead removal
TL;DR: Alumina-coated multi-wall carbon nanotubes were synthesized and characterized and displayed the main advantage of separation convenience when a fixed-bed column was used compared to the batch adsorption treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Removal of the hazardous dye—Tartrazine by photodegradation on titanium dioxide surface
Vinod Kumar Gupta,Vinod Kumar Gupta,Rajeev Jain,Arunima Nayak,Shilpi Agarwal,Meenakshi Shrivastava +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the removal of tartrazine by photodegradation has been investigated using titanium dioxide surface as photocatalyst under UV light, and the process was carried out at different pH, catalyst dose, dye concentration and effects of the electron acceptor H 2 O 2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adsorption process of methyl orange dye onto mesoporous carbon material-kinetic and thermodynamic studies.
Nourali Mohammadi,Hadi Khani,Vinod Kumar Gupta,Vinod Kumar Gupta,Ehsanollah Amereh,Shilpi Agarwal +5 more
TL;DR: Thermodynamic study showed that the adsorption was a spontaneous and exothermic process and kinetics followed a pseudo-second-order equation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photo-catalytic degradation of toxic dye amaranth on TiO2/UV in aqueous suspensions
Vinod Kumar Gupta,Rajeev Jain,Alok Mittal,Tawfik A. Saleh,Arunima Nayak,Shilpi Agarwal,Shalini Sikarwar +6 more
TL;DR: The photo-catalytic degradation of an azo dye - Amaranth (AM) - has been investigated in TiO(2)/UV aqueous suspensions and it was observed that decolorization rate increased by the increase in temperature and the lower the pH the higher the degradation.
