TL;DR: Alkali lead vanadate glasses with moderate concentrations of PbO were prepared and analyzed to test their use as promising candidates for radiation shielding as mentioned in this paper, where the physical parameters of these glasses are specified and discussed in details.
Journal ArticleDOI
An extensive investigation on gamma-ray and neutron attenuation parameters of cobalt oxide and nickel oxide substituted bioactive glasses
Huseyin Ozan Tekin,Esra Kavaz,E.E. Altunsoy,Ozge Kilicoglu,Osman Agar,Turker Tekin Erguzel,M.I. Sayyed +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the mass attenuation coefficient (μ/ ρ ) for the selected bioactive glasses was calculated using MCNPX code in photon energy range (0.02"MeV -20"MeVs) and the results were compared with the output of WinXcom software.

TL;DR: In this article, a series of 75TeO2-5Li2O-10ZnO-(10-x)Nb2O5-(x)Er2O3 glasses have been surveyed in terms of photon and neutron shielding characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effective contribution of PbO on nuclear shielding properties of xPbO-(100 − x)P2O5 glass system: a broad range investigation
TL;DR: In this article, the radiation shielding properties for glass system with the composition of xPbO-(100 − x)P2O5 (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60") were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
New approach to removal of hazardous Bypass Cement Dust (BCD) from the environment: 20Na2O-20BaCl2-(60-x)B2O3-(x)BCD glass system and Optical, mechanical, structural and nuclear radiation shielding competences
A.I. Elazaka,A.I. Elazaka,Hesham M.H. Zakaly,Hesham M.H. Zakaly,Shams A.M. Issa,Shams A.M. Issa,M. Rashad,M. Rashad,Huseyin Ozan Tekin,H. A. Saudi,V.H. Gillette,Turker Tekin Erguzel,A. G. Mostafa +12 more
TL;DR: It was found that the gradual addition of BCD content increases the hardness of the studied glasses and shielding properties such as the mass attenuation coefficient (μm), the effective atomic number (Zeff), and the effective electron density (Nel) increase as BCD fraction increases.
