Automated Pixel-Level Pavement Crack Detection on 3D Asphalt Surfaces Using a Deep-Learning Network

TL;DR: The CrackNet, an efficient architecture based on the Convolutional Neural Network, is proposed in this article for automated pavement crack detection on 3D asphalt surfaces with explicit objective of pixel‐perfect accuracy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Convolutional neural network for detecting railway fastener defects using a developed 3D laser system

TL;DR: The testing results show that the system described in this paper can inspect the defective hook-shaped fasteners notably well and significantly outperforms the other approaches with a prediction accuracy of 100%, and the number of testing samples is 16,000.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Automated Survey of Railway Conditions: A Preliminary Investigation

TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D digital railway surface evaluation system was developed based on the successful applications of 3D laser imaging for highways and runways, and a computer vision framework was developed to acquire and process various positioning and visual data streams in a synchronous approach.
