Journal ArticleDOI

Recent advances in directed C–H functionalizations using monodentate nitrogen-based directing groups

TL;DR: This review focuses specifically on the use of monodentate nitrogen-based directing groups published during the past two years, with the aim of covering a body of literature that is complementary to existing reviews.
Journal ArticleDOI

Palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative C-H bond arylation of thiophenes.

TL;DR: The decarboxylative C H bond arylation of thiophenes catalyzed by a Pd(OAc)2/Ag2CO3 system is reported, which offers a new synthetic strategy in synthesis and the challenges posed by this promising process remain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cu-Catalyzed Sequential Dehydrogenation–Conjugate Addition for β-Functionalization of Saturated Ketones: Scope and Mechanism

TL;DR: The first copper-catalyzed direct β-functionalization of saturated ketones is reported, which proceeds via a novel radical-based dehydrogenation to enone and subsequent conjugate addition sequence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Palladium-catalyzed oxidative cross-coupling between heterocycles and terminal alkynes with low catalyst loading.

TL;DR: A versatile method is reported that enables the alkynylation of thiophenes bearing various functional groups and other aromatic heterocycles by applying a low loading of a palladium catalyst and using an array of terminal alkynes as alkynyating reagents.
