Tuning of metal oxides photocatalytic performance using Ag nanoparticles integration

The demand for high-quality graphene for electronic applications is increasing due to its high carrier mobility and electrical conductivity. In this connection, printing technology is a reliable method towards the fabrication of conductive, disposable graphene-based electrode for low-cost sensor application. Herein, we aimed to report the synthesis of high-quality graphene nanosheets obtained by electrochemical exfoliation of biomass-derived from corn cob. The conductive ink was prepared from this exfoliated graphene and was utilized for the preparation of paper-based graphene electrode towards double stranded DNA (dsDNA) sensor application. This paper, based graphene electrode opens the possibility of direct electrochemical analysis of analyte without any sample preparation. In this study, two irreversible oxide peaks were obtained from paper-based printed graphene electrode, corresponds to oxidation of guanine (G) and adenine (A) of dsDNA in the linear range of 0.2 pg mL−1 to 5 pg mL−1 with the detection limit of 0.68 pg mL−1 and the sensitivity of 0.00656 mA pg−1 cm−2. Further, a small-scale printable circuit is fabricated using this graphene shows good conductivity of 1.145x103(S/m).

Facile synthesis of paper based graphene electrodes for point of care devices: A double stranded DNA (dsDNA) biosensor

Experimental measurements of thermal conductivity of engine oil-based hybrid and mono nanofluids with tungsten oxide (WO3) and MWCNTs inclusions

Determination of food toxic compounds is one of the significant strategies for investigating food quality. The presence research introduces an electrochemical approach for toxic ractopamine sensing using a gold electrode amplified with gold nanoparticles (Au-Nps/AuME). The oxidation signal of ractopamine was investigated at the surface of Au-Nps/AuME, and results showed a 2.36-fold amplification in current and reducing 100 mV in oxidation potential compare to the pristine gold electrode. The redox reaction of ractopamine shows a pH dependence behavior with two electrons and two protons. Furthermore, the scan rate and chronoamperometric investigation showed a diffusion coefficient of 1.0 × 10−6 cm2/s to the oxidation reaction of ractopamine at the surface of Au-Nps/AuME. Analytical investigation showed a linear dynamic range of 0.1–380 µM for sensing of ractopamine using square wave voltammetric technique. Also, Au-Nps/AuME could be used to measure ractopamine in food samples such as pork samples with a recovery range of 98.3–103.9% and a detection limit of 50 nM.

The electrochemical behavior of tert-butylhydroxyanisole antioxidant was investigated at a surface of carbon paste electrode amplified with MgO nanoparticle and n-methyl-3-butylimidazolium bromide as conductive binder (CPE/MgO-NPs-/M3BIBr). The oxidation voltammogram of tert-butylhydroxyanisole was shown an irreversible signal with a diffusion controlled system. Using pH investigation data, we suggested a possible mechanism for electro-oxidation of tert-butylhydroxyanisole. The oxidation current varied linearly with tert-butylhydroxyanisole concentration in the range 0.1–700 µM with detection limit 0.04 µM. The CPE/MgO-NPs-/M3BIBr was resolved overlapping signal of tert-butylhydroxyanisole and kojic acid as two important antioxidants for the first time. The CPE/MgO-NPs-/M3BIBr was applied to the analysis of tert-butylhydroxyanisole in food samples such as edible oil and chilli sauce.
