Journal ArticleDOI

Surface-engineered gold nanorods: promising DNA vaccine adjuvant for HIV-1 treatment.

TL;DR: Novel surface-engineered gold nanorods used as promising DNA vaccine adjuvant for HIV treatment and shed light on the rational design of low-toxic nanomaterials as a versatile platform for vaccine nanoadjuvants/delivery systems are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Applications of functionalized fullerenes in tumor theranostics.

TL;DR: The present review summarizes the potential of fullerenes as tumor theranostics agents and their possible underlying mechanisms are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiwall Carbon Nanotubes Mediate Macrophage Activation and Promote Pulmonary Fibrosis Through TGF‐β/Smad Signaling Pathway

TL;DR: In vivo and in vitro studies demonstrate that MWCNTs stimulate pulmonary fibrotic responses such as fibroblast proliferation and collagen deposition in a TGF-β/Smad-dependent manner and suggest that tube length acts as an important factor in M WCNT-induced macrophage activation and subsequent TGF -β1 secretion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphologically virus-like fullerenol nanoparticles act as the dual-functional nanoadjuvant for HIV-1 vaccine

TL;DR: The underlying mechanisms by which fullerenol-based formulation induces polyvalent immune responses are involved in activating multiple TLRs signaling pathways and inducing TEM -biased immunity to combat the infection at early stage.
