Abstract: The purpose of this quantitative study was to determine the effectiveness of blended learning within the context of a science education methods course for early childhood elementary preservice teachers in Turkey Elementary teachers historically fear science and avoid using it in their classes This course was blended to allow the students to experience active science learning during face to face sessions Student perceptions about their experiences in a blended methods course were collected using a previously validated survey The data analysis of the post-test only survey research design demonstrated that students’ perceptions were positive towards the use of blended learning within their science education methods course However, the analysis determined that students felt that certain technical aspects of the blended learning environment hindered their learning

Abstract: The transmission of gamma-rays of some boron compounds (H 3 BO 3 , Na 2 B 4 O 7 ) and the trommel sieve waste (TSW) have been measured by using an extremely narrow-collimated-beam transmission method in the energy range 15.74–40.93 keV. Molecular, atomic and electronic cross-sections and effective atomic numbers have been determinated on the basis of mixture rule and compared with the results obtained from theory.

Abstract: The CuO, MgO and Al2O3 films were deposited on Cu, Mg and Al substrates by the Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) method. While the MgO thin film showed hydrophilic behavior with contact angle of 75°, the Al2O3 film was hydrophobic with the contact angle of 117°. The best enhancement in terms of the wetting behavior was obtained from the copper oxide films. For these films, maximum static water contact angle was 164°. Results showed super-hydrophobic property and unique shape of form. Moreover, the superhydrophobic surface of CuO film exhibited higher corrosion resistance than MgO and Al2O3 films.
