Abstract
(Vgl. T. Rülcker, Der NeuSprachenunterricht an höheren Schulen, Frankfurt/M., 1969, S. 88 f.)

The Turns of Translation Studies: New paradigms or shifting viewpoints?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a critical assessment of recent developments in the young discipline of translation studies, as seen from a European perspective, focusing on the last 20 years, and, beginning with the cultural turn of the 1980s, they trace what have turned out since then to be ground-breaking contributions (new paradigms) as against what was only a change in position on already established territory (shifting viewpoints).

The Concept of Equivalence in Translation Studies: Much Ado About Something

TL;DR: Within translation studies, there remains a certain amount of unnecessary discord concerning the use of the equivalence concept and its relevance for translation theory as mentioned in this paper, and it seems helpful to consider different perspectives on this concept in light of the varying philosophical assumptions on which they are based.

Colliding Worlds: Issues Relating to Language Translation in Accounting and Some Lessons from Other Disciplines

TL;DR: This paper explored the implications of language translation in accounting and found that the ambiguity inherent in translation is relevant for the translation of accounting principles and can contribute to accounting convergence, but it has the potential to be exploited in ideologically or pragmatically motivated distortions in the implementation of accounting regulation.
