TLDR
In this paper, a review of the evolution and maturity of SU-scramjet engines over the last 40 years is presented in terms of efforts completed or proceeding in the United States, Russia, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, and other countries.
Abstract
Ageneralreviewoftheemergenceandmaturingofsupersoniccombustionramjet (scramjet)enginetechnologies overthelast 40 years is presented. The review isgiven in terms of theeffortscompleted or proceeding in theUnited States, Russia, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, and other countries. A brief account of the challenges of scramjet combustor development is given, and attention is directed toward other source references for more detailed accounts of technology evolution. Two emerging scramjet applications are identie ed, namely, hydrogenfueledhigh-speed engines foraccess to spaceand hydrocarbon-fueled enginesforhypersonicair-launched missiles.

Transverse jets and their control

TL;DR: The transverse jet has been studied extensively because of its relevance to a wide variety of flows in technological systems, including fuel or dilution air injection in gas turbine engines, thrust vector control for high speed airbreathing and rocket vehicles, and exhaust plumes from power plants as discussed by the authors.

Flight Data Analysis of the HyShot 2 Scramjet Flight Experiment

TL;DR: In this paper, a ballistic reentry vehicle experiment called HyShot was devised to achieve supersonic combustion in flight above Mach 7.5 using a double wedge intake and two back-to-back constant area combustors.

Jet fuel ignition delay times: Shock tube experiments over wide conditions and surrogate model predictions

TL;DR: In this paper, the first gas-phase shock tube ignition delay time data for JP-8 and JP-A were reported, and their results have very low scatter and are in excellent agreement with the limited previous shock tube data for Jet-A. The new experimental results were compared with predictions of several kinetic mechanisms, using different jet fuel surrogate mixtures.
