Perceived Knowledge and Attitudes of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and Student Registered Nurse Anesthetists on Fire Risk Assessment During Time-out in the Operating Room.
TL;DR: The authors examined the perceived knowledge and attitudes of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) on fire risk assessment during surgical time-outs, and found that most of the 140 participants overwhelmingly reported positive attitudes toward fire risk assessments, but they had self-reported information needs in 11 areas of the operating room fire-risk assessment questionnaire.

From Paper-Based to Mobile Checklists - A Reference Model
Thomas Boillat,Christine Legner +1 more
TL;DR: The suggested reference model has been constructed by following design science principles, based on an extensive analysis of paper-based and mobile checklists from the literature and from the practical world, and its main contribution is a shared understanding of the domain knowledge between users and developers.

Error, stress, and teamwork in medicine and aviation: cross sectional surveys
TL;DR: Medical staff reported that error is important but difficult to discuss and not handled well in their hospital and barriers to discussing error are more important since medical staff seem to deny the effect of stress and fatigue on performance.

On error management: lessons from aviation
TL;DR: Although operating theatres are not cockpits, medicine could learn from aviation and aviation has developed standardised methods of investigating, documenting, and disseminating errors and their lessons.
