Fish hematology analysis as an important tool of aquaculture: A review

The aim of this study was to assess the influence of two different habitats, Faro Lake (group A) and Tyrrhenian Sea (group B), on the haematological and serum protein profiles of Mugil cephalus. Our results showed significant differences of white blood cells, total proteins, prealbumin, albumin and α-globulins between groups A and B. These findings suggest that changes in haematological and serum protein profiles are important indices in monitoring the effects of aquatic habitat changes, representing an adaptive physiological response to different habitats of M. cephalus.

La presente etude a pour but de verifier l'influence de differents habitats, le lac de Faro et la mer Tyrrhenienne, sur le profil hematologique du Gobius niger. Les parametres chimiques et physiques de l'eau ont ete mesures sur les deux sites de capture. Des echantillons de sang ont ete preleves de 20 poissons captures dans le lac de Faro (groupe A) et de 20 poissons captures dans la mer Tyrrhenienne (groupe B) pour mesurer le profil hematologique complet qui inclut la valeur des globules rouges, l'hematocrite, la concentration d'hemoglobine, la valeur de globules blancs, la valeur de thrombocytes, le volume globulaire moyen, la teneur corpusculaire moyenne en hemoglobine, la concentration corpusculaire moyenne en hemoglobine, l'indice de repartition des globules rouges, le volume moyen des thrombocytes et l'indice de repartition des thrombocytes, le thrombocytocrite. Nos resultats ont demontre des differences statistiquement significatives en la valeur des globules rouges, l'hematocrite, le volume globulaire moyen, la teneur corpusculaire moyenne en hemoglobine, la concentration corpusculaire moyenne en hemoglobine, entre les deux groupes d'experimentation qui sont lies aux differences chimiques et physiques des deux differents sites de capture. Nos resultats mettent en evidence le fait que les changements dans les caracteristiques du sang sont des indices importants dans le monitorage des effets des changements du milieu sur la physiologie du G. niger.
