Haematological and serum protein profiles of Mugil cephalus: effect of two different habitats
Francesco Fazio,Simona Marafioti,Agata Torre,Marilena Sanfilippo,Michele Panzera,Caterina Faggio +5 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that changes in haematological and serum protein profiles are important indices in monitoring the effects of aquatic habitat changes, representing an adaptive physiological response to different habitats of M. cephalus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of CdCl2 on Regulatory Volume Decrease (RVD) in Mytilus galloprovincialis digestive cells
TL;DR: It is suggested that cytoskeleton and Na(+)/K(+)ATPase are the possible targets of cadmium which impairment is responsible of the altered homeostatic response.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro evaluation of antibacterial activity of Asparagopsis taxiformis from the Straits of Messina against pathogens relevant in aquaculture.
Giuseppa Genovese,Caterina Faggio,Concetta Gugliandolo,Agata Torre,Antonio Spanò,Marina Morabito,Teresa L. Maugeri +6 more
TL;DR: Ethanol extracts of Asparagopsis taxiformis collected from the Straits of Messina were screened for antibacterial activity against pathogenic shellfish and fish bacteria previously isolated from local marine and brackish environments and indicated that the extract could represent a source of antibacterial substances with potential use in aquaculture.
Journal Article
Comparative study of haematological profile on Gobius niger in two different habitat sites: Faro Lake and Tyrrhenian Sea
Francesco Fazio,Caterina Faggio,Simona Marafioti,Agata Torre,Marilena Sanfilippo,Giuseppe Piccione,M. Malpighi,S. Agata-Messina +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a mesure for verifier l'influence of different habitats, le lac de Faro and the mer Tyrrhenienne, sur le profil hematologique du Gobius niger.
