Journal ArticleDOI

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia

TL;DR: This review discusses the demographics, etiology, clinical presentation, laboratory evaluation, and treatment options of autoimmune hemolytic anemia, which includes warm AIHA, cold agglutinin syndrome, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria, mixed‐type AIH, and drug‐induced AIHA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toll-like receptor 9 agonists promote cellular invasion by increasing matrix metalloproteinase activity

TL;DR: It is shown here that TLR9 protein is expressed in human breast cancer cells and clinical breast cancer samples and a new molecular target for cancer therapy is proposed, becauseTLR9 has not been associated with cancer invasiveness previously.
Journal ArticleDOI

Increased antitumor activity of bevacizumab in combination with hypoxia inducible factor-1 inhibition

TL;DR: Results strongly suggest that combination of anti–vascular endothelial growth factor antibodies with HIF-1 inhibitors is an attractive therapeutic strategy targeting in the hypoxic tumor microenvironment.
Journal ArticleDOI

EX VIVO EXPANDED HUMAN Vλ9Vδ2+ λδ-T CELLS MEDIATE INNATE ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY AGAINST HUMAN PROSTATE CANCER CELLS IN VITRO

TL;DR: This work has identified a CD2 mediated, interleukin-12 dependent signaling pathway that inhibits activation induced cell death in mitogen stimulated human λδ-T cells, and it is shown that this pathway is related to apoptosis in mice.
Journal Article

Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma with hemophagocytic syndrome (Asian variant) in a Caucasian Patient

TL;DR: A case of intravascular B-cell lymphoma in a Caucasian patient associated with secondary hemophagocytic syndrome is reported, demonstrating the importance of high index of suspicion and astute histopathologic examination in recognition of this unusual clinical and pathologic combination.
