Journal ArticleDOI
Advances in intense femtosecond laser filamentation in air
See Leang Chin,Tie-Jun Wang,C. Marceau,Jian Wu,Jiansheng Liu,Olga G. Kosareva,Nikolay Panov,Yanping Chen,J.-F. Daigle,Shuai Yuan,A. Azarm,Weiwei Liu,Tamar Seideman,Heping Zeng,Martin Richardson,Ruxin Li,Zhigang Xu +16 more
TL;DR: A review of femtosecond filamentation can be found in this paper with emphasis on the collective work of filamentation nonlinear optics, which is a new hot subject of current debate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Filamentation "remote" sensing of chemical and biological agents/pollutants using only one femtosecond laser source
See Leang Chin,Huailiang Xu,Huailiang Xu,Q. Luo,Francis Théberge,Weiwei Liu,Weiwei Liu,J.-F. Daigle,Y. Kamali,P. T. Simard,J. Bernhardt,S.A. Hosseini,M. Sharifi,G. Méjean,A. Azarm,C. Marceau,Olga G. Kosareva,V.P. Kandidov,Neset Akozbek,Andreas Becker,Gilles Roy,Pierre Mathieu,Jean-Robert Simard,Marc Châteauneuf,Jacques Dubois +24 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an overview of the recent progress in their laboratory concerning the remote sensing of chemical and biological agents/pollutants in air using filamentation-induced nonlinear fluorescence techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward remote high energy terahertz generation
Tie-Jun Wang,Shuai Yuan,Yanping Chen,J.-F. Daigle,C. Marceau,Francis Théberge,Marc Châteauneuf,Jacques Dubois,See Leang Chin +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a two-color femtosecond laser-induced filament in air was experimentally demonstrated and a record of remote terahertz (THz) emission at 16 m was achieved.
Journal ArticleDOI
High energy terahertz emission from two-color laser-induced filamentation in air with pump pulse duration control
Tie-Jun Wang,Yanping Chen,C. Marceau,Francis Théberge,Marc Châteauneuf,Jacques Dubois,See Leang Chin +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a two-color laser-induced femtosecond filamentation was employed to generate high energy terahertz emission in air with high energy pump by controlling the pump pulse duration, more than four times enhancement was obtained when compared with a Fourier transform-limited pump.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of terahertz emission from a dc-biased filament in air
Yanping Chen,Tie-Jun Wang,C. Marceau,Francis Théberge,Marc Châteauneuf,Jacques Dubois,Olga G. Kosareva,See Leang Chin +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the terahertz emission from a dc-biased filament can be regarded as a sum of an elliptically polarized source and a linearly polarized source induced by the external electric field applied to the filament.
