Journal ArticleDOI

The ptl, combitube, laryngeal mask, and oral airway: A randomized prehospital comparative study of ventilatory device effectiveness and cost-effectiveness in 470 cases of cardiorespiratory arrest

TL;DR: The PTL, LM, and Combi appear to offer substantial advances over the OA/BVM system and the Combitube was associated with the least problems with ventilation and was the most preferred by a majority of EMAs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endotracheal intubation and esophageal tracheal Combitube insertion by regular ambulance attendants: a comparative trial.

TL;DR: There were similar rates of successful insertion/ventilation with the ETC and ETI, and continuing mannequin practice appeared to improve ETI success (as-treated), while ETI skill erosion was partially mitigated by additional field experience.
