Development and validation of a three-dimensional morphological model

TL;DR: The DELFT3D-FLOW module as discussed by the authors is a 3D flow solver for modeling sediment transport patterns in the water column of the DELFT-3D flow model, which is used to model both suspended and bedload transport of noncohesive sediment.

An approach to medium-term coastal morphological modelling

Giles Lesser
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the development and validation of a novel three-dimensional sediment transport and morphological numerical model suitable for coastal regions, and applied the model and acceleration techniques to the complex and dynamic entrance to Willapa Bay, WA, USA.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Modeling Nearshore Morphological Evolution at Seasonal Scale

TL;DR: In this paper, a process-based model is compared with field measurements to test and improve the ability to predict nearshore morphological change at seasonal time scales, and significant alongshore variability was observed in the morphological response of the sandbars over a 4 km reach of coast.

Measuring vessel motions using a rapid-deployment device on ships of opportunity

TL;DR: OMC International's development and implementation of a device for full scale vessel motion data collection, the “iHeave” vessel motion recorder, which measures and records all 6 degrees of motion experienced by a vessel with accuracy comparable to the more traditional DGPS based approach.
