Journal ArticleDOI
Study of platelet-rich plasma injections in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia through an one-year period
Maria-Angeliki Gkini,Alexandros-Efstratios Kouskoukis,Gregory Tripsianis,Dimitris Rigopoulos,Konstantinos Kouskoukis +4 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that PRP injections may have a positive therapeutic effect on male and female pattern hair loss without remarkable major side effects.
Journal Article
The effect of smoking on the olfactory function
Michael Katotomichelakis,Dimitrios G. Balatsouras,Gregory Tripsianis,Spiros Davris,Nikolaos Maroudias,Vassilios Danielides,Constantinos Simopoulos +6 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the effect of cigarette smoking on the olfactory function using the "Sniffin' Sticks" test revealed that smoking remained a strong independent risk factor for low OT, OD, OI and TDI scores.
Journal ArticleDOI
Olfaction-associated quality of life in chronic rhinosinusitis: adaptation and validation of an olfaction-specific questionnaire.
Efthimios Simopoulos,Michael Katotomichelakis,Haralampos Gouveris,Gregory Tripsianis,Miltos Livaditis,Vassilios Danielides +5 more
TL;DR: To detect validity and reliability of the Questionnaire of Olfactory Disorders (QOD) compared to other quality‐of‐life (QoL) questionnaires, to explore its ability to reflect olfaction‐related QoL changes, and to investigate age‐ and gender‐related effects of olfactory changes on QOD results.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum pattern of circulating adipokines throughout the physiological menstrual cycle.
Byron Asimakopoulos,Athanasios Milousis,Theodora Gioka,Georgia Kabouromiti,George Gianisslis,Androniki Troussa,Mara Simopoulou,Simoni A. Katergari,Gregory Tripsianis,Nikos Nikolettos +9 more
TL;DR: The stable adiponectin concentrations throughout the menstrual cycle indicate that this adipokine probably does not play a considerable role in female reproductive functions, and suggests that resistin, likewise to leptin, may have a role in the regulation of cyclicFemale reproductive functions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Olfactory dysfunction and asthma as risk factors for poor quality of life in upper airway diseases.
Michael Katotomichelakis,Efthimios Simopoulos,Nan Zhang,Gregory Tripsianis,Gerasimos Danielides,Miltos Livaditis,Claus Bachert,Vassilios Danielides +7 more
TL;DR: Olfactory dysfunction was found to decrease QoL among patients and anosmia, CRS disease, and asthma as clinical predictors were proved to be independently correlated withQoL, anxiety, and depression levels.
