Megafaunal assemblages in deep-sea ecosystems of the Gulf of Cadiz, northeast Atlantic ocean
Jordi Grinyó,Marco Francescangeli,Andreu Santín,Gemma Ercilla,Ferran Estrada,Ariadna Mechó,Emanuela Fanelli,Corrado Costa,Roberto Danovaro,J. B. Company,Ignacio Sobrino,Javier Valencia,Jacopo Aguzzi +12 more
TL;DR: In this article , a quantitative analysis of 17 video transects conducted between 220 and 980 m depth was performed to investigate megabenthic assemblages associated to canyons, contouritic channels, contours and open slopes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advancing fishery-independent stock assessments for the Norway lobster (Nephrops norvegicus) with new monitoring technologies
Jacopo Aguzzi,Damianos Chatzievangelou,Nathan J. Robinson,Nixon Bahamon,Alan Berry,Marc Carreras,J. B. Company,Corrado Costa,Joaquín del Río Fernandez,Ahmad Falahzadeh,Spyros Fifas,Sascha Flögel,Jordi Grinyó,Jónas P. Jonasson,Patrik Jonsson,Colm Lordan,Mathieu G. Vigo,Yolanda Vila,Adrian Weetman,Jennifer Doyle +30 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors discuss how the burrowing behavior of N. norvegicus biases current stock assessment methods and propose that state-of-the-art stationary and mobile robotic platforms endowed with innovative sensors and complemented with AI tools could be used to count both animals and burrows systems in-situ, as well as to provide key insights into burrowing behaviour.
Journal ArticleDOI
ROV-based monitoring of passive ecological recovery in a deep-sea no-take fishery reserve.
TL;DR: In this article , the status of a pilot deep-sea no-take reserve implemented in the northwestern Mediterranean was investigated by quantifying demographic indicators of Norway lobsters and the coexisting benthic community, seafloor restoration, and the presence of marine litter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Established and Emerging Research Trends in Norway Lobster, Nephrops norvegicus
Jacopo Aguzzi,Simona Violino,Corrado Costa,Nixon Bahamon,Joan Navarro,Damianos Chatzievangelou,Nathan J. Robinson,Jennifer Doyle,Michela Martinelli,Colm Lordan,J. B. Company +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors performed a global bibliographic survey using the VOSviewer software to investigate the status of research on Norway lobsters by extracting data from all relevant scientific literature published in SCOPUS since 1965.
