Journal ArticleDOI

Biological effects of cyclosporin A: A new antilymphocytic agent

TL;DR: Experimental evidence suggests that cyclosporin A affects an early stage of mitogenic triggering of the immunocompetent lymphoid cell, which contrasts with other immunosuppressives and cytostatic drugs in its weak myelotoxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunosuppressive Effect of Cyclosporin A in Two Lymphocyte Transfer Models in Rats: Comparison of in Vivo and in Vitro Treatment

TL;DR: The immunosuppressive effect of CS-A was first studied in the assay for local GvHR and in the EAE model in LEW rats, where it protected rats sensitised with spinal cord emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant for as long as they were treated withCS-A.
Journal ArticleDOI

In‐vivo effects of anti‐inflammatory and other drugs on granulocyte emigration in the rabbit skin collection chamber

TL;DR: A method for measuring localised leukocyte mobilisation under in-vivo conditions with a plastic skin collection-chamber adapted to the rabbit ear was used for assessing the effects of anti-inflammatory and other agents on granulocyte emigration, and may prove useful in selecting new compounds inhibiting granulocytes mobilisation in acute inflammatory reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chronic relapsing experimental allergic encephalomyelitis in the Lewis rat: studies on immune regulation.

TL;DR: An organ-dependent and time-dependent balance between effector and suppressor populations in the model is suggested and unresponsiveness to active induction of disease in all rats re-challenged during stable late remission is demonstrated.
