A highly efficient rice green tissue protoplast system for transient gene expression and studying light/chloroplast-related processes
Yang Zhang,Jianbin Su,Duan Shan,Ying Ao,Jin-Ran Dai,Jun Liu,Peng Wang,Yuge Li,Bing Liu,Dongru Feng,Jinfa Wang,Hong-Bin Wang +11 more
TL;DR: A simplified and highly efficient transient gene expression system using photosynthetically active rice green tissue protoplasts and its broad applications in protein immunoblot, localization and protein-protein interaction assays are shown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modulation of Ethylene Responses Affects Plant Salt-Stress Responses
TL;DR: Findings imply that ethylene signaling may be required for plant salt tolerance, as mutation of EIN2 results in salt sensitivity, and analysis of Arabidopsis ethylene receptor gain-of-function mutants further suggests that receptor function may lead to salt-sensitive responses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beyond Glycolysis: GAPDHs Are Multi-functional Enzymes Involved in Regulation of ROS, Autophagy, and Plant Immune Responses
TL;DR: Results indicate that plant GAPDHs can affect multiple aspects of plant immunity in diverse sub-cellular compartments.
Journal ArticleDOI
A receptor-like cytoplasmic kinase phosphorylates the host target RIN4, leading to the activation of a plant innate immune receptor.
TL;DR: These results demonstrate that the RIPK kinase associates with and modifies an effector-targeted protein complex to initiate host immunity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lysin Motif–Containing Proteins LYP4 and LYP6 Play Dual Roles in Peptidoglycan and Chitin Perception in Rice Innate Immunity
Bing Liu,Jian-Feng Li,Ying Ao,Jinwang Qu,Zhangqun Li,Jianbin Su,Yang Zhang,Jun Liu,Dongru Feng,Kangbiao Qi,Yanming He,Jinfa Wang,Hong-Bin Wang +12 more
TL;DR: Data support the notion that LYP4 and LYP6 are promiscuous PRRs for PGN and chitin in rice innate immunity, and pretreatment with excess PGN dramatically attenuated the alkalinization response of rice cells to chit in but not to flagellin.
