Journal ArticleDOI
A highly efficient rice green tissue protoplast system for transient gene expression and studying light/chloroplast-related processes
Yang Zhang,Jianbin Su,Duan Shan,Ying Ao,Jin-Ran Dai,Jun Liu,Peng Wang,Yuge Li,Bing Liu,Dongru Feng,Jinfa Wang,Hong-Bin Wang +11 more
TL;DR: A simplified and highly efficient transient gene expression system using photosynthetically active rice green tissue protoplasts and its broad applications in protein immunoblot, localization and protein-protein interaction assays are shown.
Journal ArticleDOI
Rice MAPK phosphatase IBR5 negatively regulates drought stress tolerance in transgenic Nicotiana tabacum.
Yuge Li,Dongru Feng,Deli Zhang,Jianbin Su,Yang Zhang,Zhangqun Li,Peiqiang Mu,Bing Liu,Hong-Bin Wang,Jinfa Wang +9 more
TL;DR: OsIBR5 is a MKP which was induced by abiotic stresses and decreased tolerance to drought stress in transgenic tobacco plants, and was found to interact with tobacco MAPKs SIPK and WIPK, and drought-induced WIPk activity was impaired in OsIBR 5-overexpressing tobacco plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Musa paradisica RCI complements AtRCI and confers Na+ tolerance and K+ sensitivity in Arabidopsis.
Bing Liu,Dongru Feng,Bipei Zhang,Peiqiang Mu,Yang Zhang,Yanming He,Kangbiao Qi,Jinfa Wang,Hong-Bin Wang +8 more
TL;DR: Investigation of the physiological role of a plasma membrane (PM)-localized protein, MpRCI, from plantain in transgenic Arabidopsis under NaCl and KCl stress and its effect on PM fluidity and H⁺-ATPase activity suggest that M pRCI plays an essential role in Na⁺/K⁺ flux in plant cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cu2+ triggers reversible aggregation of a disordered His-rich dehydrin MpDhn12 from Musa paradisiaca
Peiqiang Mu,Dongru Feng,Jianbin Su,Yang Zhang,Jin-Ran Dai,Honglei Jin,Bing Liu,Yanming He,Kangbiao Qi,Hong-Bin Wang,Jinfa Wang +10 more
TL;DR: This report is the first report that a dehydrin interchanged between disordered and aggregated state triggered by copper, and suggested that MpDhn12 may take part in buffering copper levels through chelation and formation of aggregates in excess Cu(2+) conditions.
