Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of radiotherapy with concomitant and adjuvant temozolomide versus radiotherapy alone on survival in glioblastoma in a randomised phase III study: 5-year analysis of the EORTC-NCIC trial
Roger Stupp,Monika E. Hegi,Warren P. Mason,Martin J. van den Bent,Martin J.B. Taphoorn,Robert C. Janzer,Samuel K. Ludwin,Anouk Allgeier,Barbara Fisher,Karl Belanger,Peter Hau,Alba A. Brandes,J.M.M. Gijtenbeek,Christine Marosi,Charles J. Vecht,Karima Mokhtari,Pieter Wesseling,Salvador Villà,Elizabeth Eisenhauer,Thierry Gorlia,Michael Weller,Denis Lacombe,J. Gregory Cairncross,René-Olivier Mirimanoff +23 more
TL;DR: Benefits of adjuvant temozolomide with radiotherapy lasted throughout 5 years of follow-up, and a benefit of combined therapy was recorded in all clinical prognostic subgroups, including patients aged 60-70 years.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isocitrate Dehydrogenase 1 Codon 132 Mutation Is an Important Prognostic Biomarker in Gliomas
Marc Sanson,Yannick Marie,Sophie Paris,Ahmed Idbaih,Julien Laffaire,François Ducray,Soufiane El Hallani,Blandine Boisselier,Karima Mokhtari,Khê Hoang-Xuan,Jean-Yves Delattre +10 more
TL;DR: This study indicates that IDH1 codon 132 mutation is closely linked to the genomic profile of the tumor and constitutes an important prognostic marker in grade 2 to 4 gliomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radiotherapy for glioblastoma in the elderly.
Florence Keime-Guibert,Olivier Chinot,Luc Taillandier,Stéphanie Cartalat-Carel,Marc Frenay,Guy Kantor,Jean-Sébastien Guillamo,Eric Jadaud,Philippe Colin,Pierre-Yves Bondiau,Philippe Menei,Hugues Loiseau,Valérie Bernier,Jérôme Honnorat,Maryline Barrie,Karima Mokhtari,Jean-Jacques Mazeron,Anne Bissery,Jean-Yves Delattre +18 more
TL;DR: Radiotherapy results in a modest improvement in survival, without reducing the quality of life or cognition, in elderly patients with glioblastoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
High prevalence of BRAF V600E mutations in Erdheim-Chester disease but not in other non-Langerhans cell histiocytoses
Julien Haroche,Frédéric Charlotte,Laurent Arnaud,Andreas von Deimling,Zofia Hélias-Rodzewicz,Baptiste Hervier,Fleur Cohen-Aubart,David Launay,Annette Lesot,Karima Mokhtari,Danielle Canioni,Louise Galmiche,Christian Rose,Marc Schmalzing,Sandra Croockewit,Marianne Kambouchner,Marie Christine Copin,Sylvie Fraitag,Felix Sahm,Nicole Brousse,Zahir Amoura,Jean Donadieu,Jean-François Emile +22 more
TL;DR: The high frequency of BRAF(V600E) in LCH and ECD suggests a common origin of these diseases, and treatment with vemurafenib should be investigated in patients with malignant BRAf(V 600E) histiocytosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
IDH1 or IDH2 mutations predict longer survival and response to temozolomide in low-grade gliomas
Caroline Houillier,X Wang,Gentian Kaloshi,Karima Mokhtari,Rémy Guillevin,Julien Laffaire,Sophie Paris,Blandine Boisselier,Ahmed Idbaih,Florence Laigle-Donadey,Khê Hoang-Xuan,Marc Sanson,J.-Y. Delattre +12 more
TL;DR: IDH mutation appears to be a significant marker of positive prognosis and chemosensitivity in low-grade gliomas, independently of 1p-19q codeletion, whereas its impact on the course of untreated tumors seems to be limited.
