Correlation of Arterial Stiffness With Left Atrial Volume Index and Left Ventricular Mass Index in Young Adults: Evaluation by Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography
Kazuhiro Osawa,Rine Nakanishi,Toru Miyoshi,Sina Rahmani,Indre Ceponiene,Negin Nezarat,Mitsuru Kanisawa,Hong Qi,Eranthi Jayawardena,Nicholas Kim,Hiroshi Ito,Matthew J. Budoff +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that increased arterial stiffness is associated with the LAVI, which reflects the early stages of cardiac remodelling, independent of various comorbidity factors in young adults with suspected coronary artery disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative differences in the atherosclerotic disease burden between the epicardial coronary arteries: quantitative plaque analysis on coronary computed tomography angiography
A. Maxim Bax,Alexander R. van Rosendael,Alexander R. van Rosendael,Xiaoyue Ma,Inge J. van den Hoogen,Inge J. van den Hoogen,Umberto Gianni,Sara W Tantawy,Emma J. Hollenberg,Daniele Andreini,Mouaz H. Al-Mallah,Matthew J. Budoff,Filippo Cademartiri,Kavitha Chinnaiyan,Jung Hyun Choi,Edoardo Conte,Hugo Marques,Pedro de Araújo Gonçalves,Ilan Gottlieb,Martin Hadamitzky,Jonathon Leipsic,Erica Maffei,Gianluca Pontone,Sanghoon Shin,Yong Jin Kim,Byoung Kwon Lee,Eun Ju Chun,Ji Min Sung,Sang Eun Lee,Sang Eun Lee,Renu Virmani,Habib Samady,Peter Stone,Daniel S. Berman,James K. Min,Jagat Narula,Fay Y. Lin,Hyuk Jae Chang,Leslee J. Shaw,Paradigm investigators +39 more
TL;DR: Atherosclerotic plaque, irrespective of vessel volume, varied across the epicardial coronary arteries; with a significantly lower burden and different compositions in the LCx when compared with the LAD and RCA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association of Body Mass Index With Coronary Artery Calcium and Subsequent Cardiovascular Mortality: The Coronary Artery Calcium Consortium.
Joseph C. Jensen,Zeina Dardari,Michael J. Blaha,Susan White,Leslee J. Shaw,John A. Rumberger,Alan Rozanski,Daniel S. Berman,Matthew J. Budoff,Khurram Nasir,Michael D. Miedema +10 more
TL;DR: In a large sample undergoing CAC scoring, obesity was associated with a higher risk of CAC and subsequent coronary heart disease, CVD, and all-cause mortality, however, overweight individuals did not have aHigher risk of mortality despite a higherrisk for CAC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Osteoprotegerin, but Not Receptor Activator for Nuclear Factor-κB Ligand, is Associated With Subclinical Coronary Atherosclerosis in HIV-Infected Men.
Kerunne S. Ketlogetswe,Rebeccah A. McKibben,Lisa P. Jacobson,Xuihong Li,Adrian S. Dobs,Matthew J. Budoff,Mallory D. Witt,Frank J. Palella,Lawrence A. Kingsley,Joseph B. Margolick,Wendy S. Post,Todd T. Brown +11 more
TL;DR: OPG and RANKL are dysregulated in HIV-infected men, and their relationship to the presence and extent of subclinical atherosclerosis varies by HIV status.
Journal ArticleDOI
Implications of serial coronary computed tomography angiography in the evaluation of coronary plaque progression.
S. Dahal,Matthew J. Budoff +1 more
TL;DR: The use of coronary computed tomography (CT) angiography to assess coronary plaque burden/progression is reviewed and about recent clinical trials that have utilized this imaging modality to study the effect of new pharmacotherapies on plaque burden /progression are discussed.
