Phy-X / PSD: Development of a user friendly online software for calculation of parameters relevant to radiation shielding and dosimetry

TL;DR: A user friendly online photon shielding and dosimetry (PSD) software available at https://phy-x.net/PSD has been developed for calculation of parameters relevant to shielding as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heavy metal borate glasses: Potential use for radiation shielding

TL;DR: In this paper, heavy metal oxide borate (HMOB) glasses were studied for gamma, fast neutron and charged particle interaction using mass attenuation coefficients (MAC), effective atomic numbers (Z e f f ), buildup factors, fast neutrons removal cross sections and ranges.
Journal ArticleDOI

The heavy metal oxide glasses within the WO3-MoO3-TeO2 system to investigate the shielding properties of radiation applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a new series of heavy metal oxide (HMO) glasses in the 10WO3-xMoO3-(90-x)TeO2, x = 10 −40 −mol% system have been developed using melt quenching technique to investigate their potentiality for radiation shielding applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Bi2O3 on gamma ray shielding and structural properties of borosilicate glasses recycled from high pressure sodium lamp glass

TL;DR: In this paper, the borosilicate glass was recycled from high pressure sodium lamp glass (HPSg) and investigated as a starting material for radiation shielding glass, and the results clearly revealed that mass attenuation coefficient and other parameters depends on concentration of Bi2O3 and addition of Bi 2O3 significantly increased shielding capability of glass samples against gamma rays as well as fast neutrons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radiation shielding properties of bismuth borate glasses doped with different concentrations of cadmium oxides

TL;DR: In this paper, the gamma and neutron beam shielding properties of the bismuth borate glass system with various concentration of cadmium oxide (0, 5, 10 and 15 mol%).
