Journal ArticleDOI

Pyoderma gangrenosum: clinicopathologic correlation and proposed diagnostic criteria.

TL;DR: Diagnostic criteria and some historical perspectives on the diagnosis of pyoderma gangrenosum are suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calciphylaxis: Natural history, risk factor analysis, and outcome

TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a retrospective study of 64 patients with calciphylaxis (including 49 dialysis patients age and sex-matched to 98 dialysis controls) and found an estimated 1-year survival rate of 61.6% was observed for 17 patients receiving surgical debridement compared with 27.4% for the 46 who did not.
Journal ArticleDOI

Skin ulcers misdiagnosed as pyoderma gangrenosum.

TL;DR: A thorough evaluation is required in all patients suspected of having pyoderma gangrenosum in order to rule out alternative diagnoses, and it was clear that those in 23 patients did not respond to treatment directed at pyoderm gangrenoum, those in 8 were exacerbated by such treatment, and those in 15 improved with such treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

A meta-analysis of the prognostic significance of sentinel lymph node status in Merkel cell carcinoma.

TL;DR: Sentinel lymph node positivity is strongly predictive of a high short-term risk of recurrence or metastasis in patients with Merkel cell carcinoma, and therapeutic lymph node dissection appears effective in preventing short- term regional nodal recurrence.
