Recent advances in using of chitosan-based adsorbents for removal of pharmaceutical contaminants: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, a critical review of chitosan-based materials for the removal of pharmaceutical compounds is presented. But, the results of the review are limited to three categories: antibiotics (tetracycline, amoxicillin, etc.), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (diclofenac, ibuprofen, etc.) and other pharmaceutical compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immobilization of gold nanoparticles on folate-conjugated dendritic mesoporous silica-coated reduced graphene oxide nanosheets: a new nanoplatform for curcumin pH-controlled and targeted delivery.

TL;DR: The obtained results proved that the proposed system, Cur-AuNPs@GFMS, can be used as a potent anticancer agent in targeted cancer therapies for breast cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and Synthesis of Gatekeeper Coated Dendritic Silica/Titania Mesoporous Nanoparticles with Sustained and Controlled Drug Release Properties for Targeted Synergetic Chemo-Sonodynamic Therapy.

TL;DR: The results revealed that the new system, CUR@PEI-FA-DSTNs, can be considered as a potent drug delivery system for increasing effectiveness of the anticancer activity of curcumin in the combined chemo-sonodynamic therapy.
