TL;DR: Immediate ART reduces the risk of several severe bacterial infections in HIV-positive people with high CD4 cell count, partly explained by ART-induced increases in CD4cell count, but not by increases in neutrophil count.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insulin resistance and diabetes in HIV infection.
TL;DR: It is reasonable to recommend general measures to increase insulin sensitivity in all patients infected with HIV, such as regular aerobic exercise and weight reduction for overweight persons.
