Journal ArticleDOI

A review on auxetic structures and polymeric materials

TL;DR: A review on advances in this area is presented in this article, where the emphasis is focused on the geometrical structures and models, particular properties and applications of auxetic polymeric materials developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray diffraction study of bamboo fibers treated with NaOH

TL;DR: In this paper, X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to characterize the microstructure after treatment with NaOH and the amount of cellulose II and the crystallinity index based on the XRD results were calculated for the evaluation of the effectiveness of different treatment conditions, such as alkali concentration, mercerization duration and temperature, as well as tension applied to the fibers during mercerisation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Negative Poisson’s Ratio Weft-knitted Fabrics:

TL;DR: In this article, a geometrical analysis of a three-dimensional NPR structure constructed with parallelogram planes of the same shape and size was firstly designed and fabricated on a computerized flat-knitting machine and then the NPR values of these fabrics were evaluated and compared with those from the theoretical calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Compression behavior of warp-knitted spacer fabrics for cushioning applications

TL;DR: Cushioning materials generally absorb kinetic mechanical energy under compression actions at a relatively constant stress over a large range of displacement as mentioned in this paper, however, cushioning materials are not widely used in computer vision applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact compressive behavior of warp-knitted spacer fabrics for protective applications

TL;DR: In this article, the impact compressive behavior of warp-knitted spacer fabrics developed for human body protection was analyzed based on their impact contact force-displacement curve, energy absorbed-contact force curve and transmitted force-time curve.
