TL;DR: There is little information on the long‐term failure and function after restorative proctocolectomy (RPC), so the results of data submitted to a national registry were analysed.
Abstract: Objective There is little information on the long-term failure and function after restorative proctocolectomy (RPC). The results of data submitted to a national registry were analysed. Method The UK National Pouch Registry was established in 2004. By 2006, it comprised data collected from ten centres between 1976 and 2006. The long-term failure and functional outcome were determined. Trends over time were assessed using the gamma statistic or the Kruskal–Wallis statistic wherever appropriate. Results In all, 2491 patients underwent primary RPC over a median of 54 months (range 1 month to 28.9 years). Of these, 127 (5.1%) underwent abdominal salvage surgery. The incidence of failure (excision or indefinite diversion) was 7.7% following primary and 27.5% following salvage RPC (P < 0.001). The median frequency of defaecation/24 h was five including one at night. Nocturnal seepage occurred in 8% at 1 year, rising to 15.4% at 20 years (P = 0.037). Urgency was experienced by 5.1% of patients at 1 year rising to 9.1% at 15 years (P = 0.022). Stool frequency and the need for antidiarrhoeal medication were greater following salvage RPC. Conclusion In patients retaining anal function after RPC, frequency of defaecation was stable over 20 years. Faecal urgency and minor incontinence worsened with time. Function after salvage RPC was significantly worse.

TL;DR: In this paper, a conceptual framework to enhance inbound and outbound operations in ERP for Fashion Apparel and Footwear Industry was derived, and the existing ERP system was thoroughly analyzed using mixed method approach and was followed-up in assessing how transactions can be better executed in the system.
Abstract: In this competitive business world most of the supply chains are struggling to sustain competitively in the global supply chain due to its increasing complexity in each phase of the supply chain operations. Many companies are facing financial difficulties and some have shut down due to poor supply chain management practices. Companies have to be smarter by incorporating the necessary technologies to be more competitive and sustain in the global supply chain, that processes can be better managed and automated where necessary. Most companies fail due to poor integrations of technology in their supply chain. It is important that companies be smarter in order to strive hard to reduce cost, improve customer services and to increase return of investments throughout the supply chain. While a few industries are taking a major leap; it is vital for other companies to adopt to the changing nature of the digital supply chains and embrace industry 4.0, leveraging Internet of Things (IoT). The primary goal of this study is to improve inbound and outbound operations to better manage and optimize and automate operations in an ERP system through the use of RFID technology and Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) technology in SAP ® . The existing ERP system was thoroughly analyzed using mixed method approach and was followed-up in assessing how transactions can be better executed in the system. The study derives a conceptual framework to enhance inbound and outbound operations in ERP for Fashion Apparel and Footwear Industry.

TL;DR: This paper argued that the most important outcome of the 2006 election was the successful articulation of a new populist politics by Michael Sata's Patriotic Front (PF), which won a significant majority in urban areas.
Abstract: Zambia's 2006 election was won by incumbent President Levy Mwanawasa and his Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD). However, it is argued here that the most important outcome of the campaign was the successful articulation of a new populist politics by Michael Sata's Patriotic Front (PF), which won a significant majority in urban areas. Sata's attacks on foreign investors (particularly from China) for their abuse of the workforce and their supposedly corrupt relationship with the MMD resonated with urban Zambians, already angered by the negative impact of economic liberalization. PF's campaign injected popular social demands into what had become a moribund political debate. The MMD government is now adopting PF policies in an attempt to restore its own urban support base. The article describes the campaign and its outcomes, contrasting the political discourse of the MMD and PF and analysing the differences in voting behaviour between rural and urban Zambians. It argues that recent relief of 92 percent of Zambia's international debt, along with the renewed profitability of the copper mining industry, have created conditions for the re-emergence of a nationalist-developmental political framework.

TL;DR: This work shows that the emergent dynamics of the lattice fluid may be usefully transformed by inserting position and time dependent "source" or "forcing" terms into the microscopic evolution equation of a lattice Boltzmann fluid.
Abstract: By inserting position and time dependent “source” or “forcing” terms into the microscopic evolution equation of a lattice Boltzmann fluid and treating the generalized scheme within the usual Chapman-Enskog methodology, we show that the emergent dynamics of the lattice fluid may be usefully transformed. Our method of adjustment is demonstrated by implementing the cylindrical polar coordinate form of the continuity and momentum equations on a rectangular lattice and generating results for pipe flow. With straightforward systematic adjustment of the simulation, our approach produces results in excellent agreement with theory.
