At present, the devices in use are mainly designed for the treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms and thus do not necessarily meet the special requirements of the thoracic aorta. In this context, the first International Summit on Thoracic Aortic Endografting was held in Tokyo on March 2–3, 2001, to provide a forum for experts in the field to exchange information on techniques and results with thoracic aortic endograft repairs. During the summit, 428 participants from 109 institutions in 11 countries gathered to hold intensive and fruitful discussions. The following is a summary of the discussions and the consensus adopted at the Summit roundtable.read more

Reporting standards for thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR)
TL;DR: Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) incorporates some unique aspects, ranging from specific anatomic issues to the differing etiologies of diseases affecting the thoracic aorta, such as dissection, traumatic injury, penetrating ulcer, and pseudoaneurysm.

Endografting of the aortic arch.
TL;DR: This review will survey the literature on aortic arch stent-graft repair and identify key elements critical to the successful design of an endograft to treat lesions in the aorta.

Results of Endografting of the Aortic Arch in Different Landing Zones
Germano Melissano,Efrem Civilini,Luca Bertoglio,Fabio Calliari,Francesco Setacci,Giliola Calori,Roberto Chiesa +6 more
TL;DR: Total debranching of the arch for "zone 0" aneurysms allowed to obtain a longer proximal aortic landing zone with lower incidence of endoleak, however a higher risk of cerebrovascular accident was observed.

Preliminary report on prediction of spinal cord ischemia in endovascular stent graft repair of thoracic aortic aneurysm by retrievable stent graft
TL;DR: Results suggest that predeployment testing with the Retriever under evoked spinal cord potential monitoring is promising as a predictor of spinal cord ischemia in candidates for stent graft repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms.
