Journal ArticleDOI

The structure and function of α-actinin

TL;DR: A number of distinct isoforms of 0c-actinin have been characterized including the skeletal and smooth muscle isoforms and the non-muscle isoforms isolated from brain, macrophages, platelets, and cultured fibroblasts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mutually exclusive splicing of calcium-binding domain exons in chick alpha-actinin.

TL;DR: The levels of chick alpha-actinin mRNAs were found to be serum-inducible, suggesting that alpha-Actinin may be an early response gene, and analysis of the gene structure showed that this region of sequence divergence is encoded by two separate exons whose incorporation is mutually exclusive.
