Biomass torrefaction for energy purposes – Definitions and an overview of challenges and opportunities in Brazil
Carlos Miguel Simões da Silva,Angélica de Cássia Oliveira Carneiro,Benedito Rocha Vital,Clarissa Gusmão Figueiró,Lucas de Freitas Fialho,Mateus Alves de Magalhães,Amélia Guimarães Carvalho,Welliton Lelis Cândido +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the application potential of torrefaction in the solid fuel's production from lignocellulosic biomasses in Brazil and showed the definitions, use for energy purposes and the Brazilian production of agroforestry biomass.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality of Wood and Charcoal from Eucalyptus Clones for Ironmaster Use
Bárbara Luísa Corradi Pereira,Aylson Costa Oliveira,Ana Márcia Macedo Ladeira Carvalho,Angélica de Cássia Oliveira Carneiro,Larissa Carvalho Santos,Benedito Rocha Vital +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the properties of wood and charcoal from different clones of Eucalyptus spp. were evaluated and the samples were from a clonal, located in the city of Lassance, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
Parâmetros de qualidade da madeira e do carvão vegetal de Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell.
Aylson Costa Oliveira,Angélica de Cássia Oliveira Carneiro,Benedito Rocha Vital,Wellington Almeida,Bárbara Luísa Corradi Pereira,Marco Túlio Cardoso +5 more
Journal ArticleDOI
TL;DR: The amount of energy m-3 increased with increasing age, and the three genetic materials evaluated were significantly different between them, so the selection of the best genetic material must consider the wood technological characteristics, as well as their productivity and effectiveness of technical production.
Journal Article
Quality parameters of Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell. wood and charcoal.
Aylson Costa Oliveira,A. de C. O. Carneiro,Benedito Rocha Vital,W. Almeida,Bárbara Luísa Corradi Pereira,Marco Túlio Cardoso +5 more
TL;DR: It was conclude that the Eucalyptus pellita presents satisfactory properties for charcoal production, and the low age didn’t impair the quality of wood for energy purposes, however, further studies should be conducted to determine the influence of reduction cutting cycles on volume and wood quality.
