Journal ArticleDOI

Label-Free Biosensing With a Slot-Waveguide-Based Ring Resonator in Silicon on Insulator

TL;DR: In this article, a slot waveguide-based ring resonator with a footprint of only 13 mum times 10 mum, fabricated with optical lithography, was presented for selective label-free sensing of proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Multiplexed Antibody Detection With an Array of Silicon-on-Insulator Microring Resonators

TL;DR: In this article, a prototype sensor for multiplexed label-free monitoring of biomolecular interactions based on an array of three-by-four silicon-on-insulator microring resonators fabricated by standard complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) technology is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

SOI optical microring resonator with poly(ethylene glycol) polymer brush for label-free biosensor applications.

TL;DR: The polymer coated sensor with covalently bound biotin receptor molecules showed very low response to Bovine Serum Albumin up to 1 mg/ml in contrast to a high response to avidin with much lower concentrations, which makes the optical biosensor chip suitable to be integrated in a microflow system for commercial label-free biosensors and for lab-on-a-chip applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell survival and proliferation after encapsulation in a chemically modified Pluronic® F127 hydrogel

TL;DR: Preliminary in vivo tests have shown the formation of new bone starting from the injected pre-loaded CultiSpher-S® carriers, and good cell proliferation and migration could be observed in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunocompatibility evaluation of hydrogel‐coated polyimide implants for applications in regenerative medicine

TL;DR: The results indicated that the gelatin hydrogels support cell growth and no inflammatory activity, measured by nitric oxide and pro-inflammatory cytokine production, was observed in peritoneal cells and monocyte/macrophage RAW 264.7 cell line cultivated on the hydrogel.
