Osteogenic activity of the fourteen types of human bone morphogenetic proteins (bmps)
Hongwei Cheng,Wei Jiang,Frank M. Phillips,Rex C. Haydon,Ying Peng,Lan Zhou,Hue H. Luu,Naili An,Benjamin N. Breyer,Pantila Vanichakarn,Jan Paul Szatkowski,Jae Yoon Park,Tong-Chuan He +12 more
TL;DR: Bone morphogenic proteins (BMPs) are known to promote osteogenesis, and clinical trials are currently underway to evaluate the ability of certain BMPs to promote fracture-healing and spinal fusion as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
A protocol for rapid generation of recombinant adenoviruses using the AdEasy system
Jinyong Luo,Zhong Liang Deng,Zhong Liang Deng,Xiaoji Luo,Xiaoji Luo,Ni Tang,Ni Tang,Wen Xin Song,Jin Chen,Jin Chen,Katie A. Sharff,Hue H. Luu,Rex C. Haydon,Kenneth W. Kinzler,Bert Vogelstein,Tong-Chuan He,Tong-Chuan He +16 more
TL;DR: This protocol describes the practical aspects of using the AdEasy system for generating recombinant adenoviruses and describes the process of generating and testing recombinantAdenoviral plasmids for a variety of purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Breast cancer development and progression: Risk factors, cancer stem cells, signaling pathways, genomics, and molecular pathogenesis.
Yixiao Feng,Yixiao Feng,Mia Spezia,Shifeng Huang,Shifeng Huang,Chengfu Yuan,Chengfu Yuan,Zongyue Zeng,Zongyue Zeng,Linghuan Zhang,Linghuan Zhang,Xiaojuan Ji,Xiaojuan Ji,Wei Liu,Wei Liu,Bo Huang,Bo Huang,Bo Huang,Wenping Luo,Wenping Luo,Bo Liu,Bo Liu,Yan Lei,Yan Lei,Scott Du,Akhila Vuppalapati,Hue H. Luu,Rex C. Haydon,Tong-Chuan He,Guosheng Ren +29 more
TL;DR: Emerging evidence indicates that epigenetic regulations and noncoding RNAs may play important roles in breast cancer development and may contribute to the heterogeneity and metastatic aspects of breast cancer, especially for triple-negative breast cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of the distinct orthotopic bone-forming activity of 14 BMPs using recombinant adenovirus-mediated gene delivery.
Quan Kang,Quan Kang,Sun Mh,Hongwei Cheng,Ying Peng,Anthony G. Montag,Andrea T. Deyrup,Andrea T. Deyrup,Wei Jiang,Hue H. Luu,Jinyong Luo,Jan Paul Szatkowski,Pantila Vanichakarn,Jae Yoon Park,Li Y,Rex C. Haydon,Tong-Chuan He +16 more
TL;DR: Rec recombinant adenoviruses expressing the 14 types of BMPs are used and it is demonstrated that BMP-6 and B MP-9 effectively induced orthotopic ossification when either AdBMP-transduced osteoblast progenitors or the viral vectors were injected into the quadriceps of athymic mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Osteogenic activity of the fourteen types of human bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs)1
Hongwei Cheng,Wei Jiang,Frank M. Phillips,Rex C. Haydon,Ying Peng,Lan Zhou,Hue H. Luu,Naili An,Benjamin N. Breyer,Pantila Vanichakarn,Jan Paul Szatkowski,Jae Yoon Park,Tong-Chuan He +12 more
TL;DR: The results suggest an osteogenic hierarchical model in which BMP-2, 6, and 9 may play an important role in inducing osteoblast differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, whereas most BMPs are able to stimulate osteogenesis in mature osteoblasts.
