First Metagenomic Survey of the Microbial Diversity in Bioaerosols Emitted in Waste Sorting Plants

TL;DR: The NGS biodiversity measurements revealed a higher biodiversity bioaerosols that previously reported for WSP in studies carried out using culture methods followed by identification of microorganisms, providing the first survey about taxonomic biodiversity in bio aerosols from WSPs using high-throughput sequencing.
Journal ArticleDOI

One-year follow-up of microbial diversity in bioaerosols emitted in a waste sorting plant in France.

TL;DR: Assessment of the airborne microbial biodiversity by using a sequencing method in a French waste sorting plant for one year to investigate the main factors of variability of this biodiversity and found that microbial biodiversity was different in the plant compared to the IR and seemed to be influenced by the season.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of experimental complex fungal bioaerosols: Impact of analytical method on fungal composition measurements

TL;DR: Results show that results of fungal composition investigations are strongly dependent on the analysis method used, and further studies will be required to assess the impact of these findings when considering biodiversity in complex and unknown environments.
