Role of Matrix Metalloproteinases in Angiogenesis and Cancer.
Saray Quintero-Fabián,Rodrigo Arreola,Enrique Becerril-Villanueva,Julio César Torres-Romero,Victor Arana-Argáez,Julio Lara-Riegos,Mario Alberto Ramírez-Camacho,María Elizbeth Alvarez-Sánchez +7 more
TL;DR: This review analyzes recent knowledge on MMPs and their participation in angiogenesis through the modulation of the balance between pro- and anti-angiogenic factors and concludes that Matrix metalloproteinases participate in the disruption, tumor neovascularization, and subsequent metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Anti-inflammatory effects of the protein hydrolysate and peptide fractions isolated from Salvia hispanica L. seeds
TL;DR: The results demonstrated that protein derivatives from S. hispanica L. seeds have in vitro and in vivo anti-inflammatory effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intestinal parasites and genotyping of Giardia duodenalis in children: first report of genotype B in isolates from human clinical samples in Mexico
Julio César Torres-Romero,Antonio Euan-Canto,Namibya Benito-González,Nayely Padilla-Montaño,Claribel Huchin-Chan,Julio Lara-Riegos,Roberto Cedillo-Rivera +6 more
TL;DR: This is the first report of assemblage B of G. duodenalis in human clinical samples from Mexico, and is likely to be one of the most prevalent enteroparasites in children.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunomodulatory effects of the methanolic extract from Pouteria campechiana leaves in macrophage functions
Ivan Chan-Zapata,Jaqueline Canul-Canche,Karla Fernández-Martín,Zhelmy Martín-Quintal,Julio César Torres-Romero,Julio Lara-Riegos,Mario Alberto Ramírez-Camacho,Victor Arana-Argáez +7 more
TL;DR: The results conclude that the MeOH extract from P. campechiana leaves possessed a stronger immunostimulatory effect in a concentration-dependent manner without affect the cell viability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunosuppresive effects of the methanolic extract of chrysophyllum cainito leaves on macrophage functions
Victor Arana-Argáez,Ivan Chan-Zapata,Jaqueline Canul-Canche,Karla Fernández-Martín,Zhelmy Martín-Quintal,Julio César Torres-Romero,Tania Isolina Coral-Martínez,Julio Lara-Riegos,Mario Alberto Ramírez-Camacho +8 more
TL;DR: MeOH extract of C. cainito leaves has an immunosuppressive effect on murine MΦs, without effects on cell viability, and GC-MS chromatogram analysis of MeOH extract showed that lupeol acetate and alpha-amyrin acetate are the principal compounds.
