Journal ArticleDOI
A Pilot Study of Rapid Cooling by Cold Saline and Endovascular Cooling Before Reperfusion in Patients With ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Matthias Götberg,Göran K. Olivecrona,Sasha Koul,Marcus Carlsson,Henrik Engblom,Martin Ugander,Jesper van der Pals,Lars Algotsson,Håkan Arheden,David Erlinge +9 more
TL;DR: The protocol demonstrates the ability to reach a core body temperature of <35°C before reperfusion in all patients without delaying primary percutaneous coronary intervention and that combination hypothermia as an adjunct therapy in acute myocardial infarction may reduce infarct size at 3 days as measured by MRI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bivalirudin versus Heparin Monotherapy in Myocardial Infarction
David Erlinge,Elmir Omerovic,Ole Fröbert,Rikard Linder,Mikael Danielewicz,Mehmet Hamid,Eva Swahn,Loghman Henareh,Henrik Wagner,Peter Hårdhammar,Iwar Sjögren,Jason Stewart,Per Grimfjärd,Jens Jensen,Mikael Aasa,Lotta Robertsson,Pontus Lindroos,Jan Haupt,Helena Wikström,Anders Ulvenstam,Pallonji Bhiladvala,Bo Lindvall,Anders Lundin,Tim Tödt,Dan Ioanes,Truls Råmunddal,Thomas Kellerth,Leszek Zagozdzon,Matthias Götberg,Jonas Andersson,Oskar Angerås,Ollie Östlund,Bo Lagerqvist,Claes Held,Lars Wallentin,Fredrik Scherstén,Peter Eriksson,Sasha Koul,Stefan James +38 more
TL;DR: The rate of the composite of death from any cause, myocardial infarction, or major bleeding was not lower among those who received bivalirudin than among thosewho received heparin monotherapy, and the results were consistent between patients with STEMI and those with NSTEMI and across other major subgroups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of intravenous TRO40303 as an adjunct to primary percutaneous coronary intervention for acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction: MITOCARE study results
Dan Atar,Håkan Arheden,Alain Berdeaux,Jean-Louis Bonnet,Marcus Carlsson,Peter Clemmensen,Valerie Cuvier,Nicolas Danchin,Jean-Luc Dubois-Randé,Henrik Engblom,David Erlinge,Huseyin Firat,Sigrun Halvorsen,Henrik Steen Hansen,Wilfried Hauke,Einar Heiberg,Sasha Koul,A.I Larsen,Philippe Le Corvoisier,Jan Erik Nordrehaug,Franck Paganelli,Rebecca M. Pruss,Hélène Rousseau,Sophie Schaller,Giles Sonou,Vegard Tuseth,Julien Veys,Eric Vicaut,Svend Eggert Jensen +28 more
TL;DR: This study in STEMI patients treated with contemporary mechanical revascularization principles did not show any effect of TRO40303 in limiting reperfusion injury of the ischaemic myocardium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safety of the Deferral of Coronary Revascularization on the Basis of Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio and Fractional Flow Reserve Measurements in Stable Coronary Artery Disease and Acute Coronary Syndromes.
Javier Escaned,Nicola Ryan,Hernán Mejía-Rentería,Christopher Cook,Hakim-Moulay Dehbi,Eduardo Alegría-Barrero,Ali Alghamdi,Rasha Al-Lamee,John D. Walters,Hiroyoshi Yokoi,Ole Fröbert,Manesh R. Patel,Patrick W. Serruys,Justin E. Davies,Justin E. Davies,Matthias Götberg +88 more
TL;DR: Overall, deferral of revascularization is equally safe with both iFR and FFR, with a low MACE rate of about 4%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triple antithrombotic therapy following an acute coronary syndrome: prevalence, outcomes and prognostic utility of the HAS-BLED score.
J. Gustav Smith,Mattias Wieloch,Sasha Koul,Oscar Ö. Braun,Jonathan Lumsden,Emil Rydell,Jenny Öhman,Fredrik Scherstén,Peter Svensson,Jesper van der Pals +9 more
TL;DR: TT was relatively common following acute coronary syndrome and was associated with a threefold increase in major bleeding compared to DAPT at one year and the HAS-BLED risk score predicted bleeding events with moderate accuracy.
